The correct answer is “Explorer”. Explorer is an absolute program that is indispensable when searching for the files we want or moving them to another folder/disk.
However, there was one drawback that made me frown when I opened this explorer…
It is a “Favorites” function called “Favorite List”, “Recently Used Files”. It is a kind of user-friendly function that allows files that I have opened to appear on the initial screen of Explorer for convenience.
“Recently used files” appears immediately after opening explorer
These days, we live in a world where we hide files for security, but if someone else sees the file we opened, it would be quite embarrassing.
Fortunately, there is a setting in Windows 10 Explorer that allows you to turn off these features.
After opening Explorer, click the menu with “View” written on the top menu bar, click the “Options” button on the right, and click “Change folder and search options”.
When the “Folder Options” item appears, at the bottom, under the item “Privacy” written
“Show recently used files in Favorites”
“Show recently used folders in Favorites”
“Uncheck” each checkbox.
As the second operation, click the “Clear” button in the “Clear file explorer history” item to clear all usage history.
Then, like the screen above, the explorer will greet you with a very neat look.
If you have removed unwanted lists in step 1, there is also a way to prevent them from being fixed as “Favorites” when you open Explorer.
Repeat the same operation as in step 1 above.
Explorer → View → Options → Change folder and search options
If you click the “Open File Explorer” item at the top, if it is set to “My PC” by default, when you open Explorer, “Favorites” will not open on the main screen, and C drive and D drive will appear. “This PC” will appear on the main screen.
This is a useful feature for those who open Explorer and click “This PC” to move files.
