경기지역화폐 가맹점 신청This is due to the revision and enforcement of the ‘Act on the Promotion of Use of Local Love Gift Certificates’ (Local Love Gift Certificate Act) on April 20 this year, making registration of local currency affiliated stores nationwide mandatory starting in July.
In the meantime, in order to expand the number of local currency affiliates in Gyeonggi Province, the province has established guidelines and grace periods, allowing local currency payments without a separate registration process for businesses that meet requirements such as having a card terminal.
The grace period ends on the 30th, and from the next day, July 1, payments in Gyeonggi local currency by unregistered merchants will be restricted.
Accordingly, registration targets are business establishments within the province that can use Gyeonggi local currency, excluding department stores, large supermarkets, entertainment and gambling establishments, and large-scale sales establishments.
Relevant businesses can apply online through the Gyeonggi Regional Currency mobile app or the affiliated store registration site (with.konacard.co.kr) by 6 p.m. on the 30th, or visit the relevant city/county department to apply.
Prior to this measure, the province has made various efforts to minimize the inconvenience that residents and small business owners may experience due to restrictions on payments in Gyeonggi local currency.
To this end, we have been operating an intensive registration period for Gyeonggi local currency affiliated stores since last April and are working with cities and counties in the province to encourage registration of Gyeonggi local currency affiliated stores through various methods such as sending mail, text messages, and visiting business sites.
By expediting administrative procedures, such as shortening the franchise registration completion period by about 1/3 from the legal processing deadline (7 days), business owners were able to complete franchise registration within 2 days from the application/reception date.
Kim Sang-soo, head of the local finance department, said, “Application for registration as a Gyeonggi local currency affiliate is an essential procedure for fair local currency distribution and efficient affiliate management.” He added, “To prevent inconveniences such as restrictions on local currency payments, we cooperate to complete the application for affiliate registration within the deadline. “Please do it,” he asked.
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Regional Currency is a project that Gyeonggi Province has been introducing since April 2019 to revitalize the local economy and create a practical virtuous economic cycle. In the meantime, it has caught both the economy and welfare by combining various incentive policies to improve the welfare of residents, and received the President’s Award in the government’s evaluation of the performance and best practices of local love gift certificates in December last year.
