If you have specialized in Taekwondo and have a rank or dan, you must obtain and submit documents to prove this fact. It is useful in more ways than you might expect, such as being used to verify qualifications or for extra points in exams, or as a substitute for other exams. You can search for and apply for a Taekwondo Dan certificate on the Kukkiwon website. Let’s take a look at the precautions and methods.
How to search for a Taekwondo Dan certificate

Yupum/Dan Inquiry
※ Go to Kukkiwon
https://www.kukkiwon.or.kr/
If you go to the bottom of the Kukkiwon homepage or the [Promotion/Dan Inquiry] – [Yupum/Dan Inquiry] menu, a screen will appear where you can enter your name and resident registration number. Enter each and click the [Search] button to search for the applicant’s current dan, dan number, and final promotion date.
However, if you obtained your dan before 1996, your resident registration number may not be entered in the system, so you may not be able to search through the website. In this case, you need to submit information and register separately through the customer center or QnA.
