옥천 가볼만한 곳The first healing course of this road starting from Okcheon Prehistoric Park is a 1.3km forest path that winds up and down. You can enjoy the sunlight shining through the thick trees and often hear the sounds of mountain birds.
As you walk along the forest path wondering when Daecheong Lake will greet you, a wooden bridge appears over the last hill and an observatory appears to the right of it. It was a building that used to be a water tower, but it has been transformed into an observatory where you can feel Daecheong Lake up close.
When you climb up to the observatory, the second healing course, a long wooden bridge along the lake, comes into view through the thick trees. Below the wooden bridge, the winding road that our grandfathers and grandmothers used to walk is submerged in water.
Now, a new road that goes from Okcheon-eup to Boeun-gun via Annaemyeon is open wide on the other side of the mountain on the left, but the fact that this road was the main road before Daecheong Lake was created in 1980 has now become a path of memories that only the old people know.
When you leave the observatory and step onto the wooden bridge, colorful autumn leaves greet you. The trees and the wooden bridge, which seem to be greeting you while looking out over the lake, make for great backgrounds for taking pictures here and there.
If you walk along the wooden bridge for about 1.5km, you will come across a wide field. It is called ‘Hwangsae-teo’ because it is where storks used to live. The trees block the sky from the wooden bridge, but when you stand on this field, you can see the sky, the mountain in front, and the lake all at once.
This is the third healing course of the Hyangsu Lake Trail. Unfortunately, you will have to go back the way you came from this point for the time being. The Hyangsu Lake Trail continues for about 1.9km from Hyangsu-teo to Janggye-ri Inn Village in Annae-myeon, but this section will not be completed until next year.
When this section opens, you will be able to travel about 10km along the Daecheong Lake from Okcheon Prehistoric Park to Janggye Tourist Site in Annae-myeon, so it is expected to be loved by trekking travelers from all over the country.
A military official said, “Hyangsu Lake Road is a wellness tourist attraction where you can heal in a natural environment,” and “There are more healing courses in the Janggye-ri section, which will be completed next year, such as the legendary Yongdaengi where the yellow dragon ascended to heaven.”
The Hyangsu Lake Road Health Walking Competition will be held on the 9th. Participants will walk along the Daecheong Lake shore for a round trip of 4km, and there will be events such as a congratulatory performance and a prize drawing. If you would like to participate in the walking competition, go to Okcheon Prehistoric Park by 9:00 AM on the day.
