Public transportation in Japan is too expensive!!
When preparing for a trip to Japan, I always pay a lot of attention to travel routes and transportation options to reduce transportation costs. This is because transportation fares are very burdensome. Korea has a transfer system, so there is less of a perception that transportation costs are expensive. On the other hand, most public transportation in Japan is operated by private companies, so the base fare is more expensive and you have to pay a fare every time you transfer. Of course, Japan also has season passes, but it is difficult for tourists traveling for a short period of time to use them. At this time, before leaving for a trip, it is helpful to find out in advance about a pass that allows tourists to use the subway and buses unlimitedly for a certain period of time. Most Japanese tourist cities sell transportation passes, and if you use them effectively, you can save a lot of money on transportation costs. The pass that can be used in Tokyo is the ‘Tokyo Subway Pass’, also known as the Metro Pass or Subway Pass. (In Osaka, the Osaka Amazing Pass or Subway Pass is the most popular)

The Tokyo Subway Pass sells three time-limited passes: 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours. Unlike a one-day pass, it can be used for 24 hours from the time of first use. For example, if you purchase a 24-hour pass and use it for the first time at 10 am, you can use it until 10 am the next day. The time of first use is displayed on the back of the pass. It is advantageous to use public transportation three or more times a day within a 72-hour period.
You can freely use a total of 13 lines of the ‘Tokyo Metro’ and ‘Toei Line’. JR lines cannot be used.
A simple way to find out the ‘Tokyo Subway Pass’ route is to check if there are green ginkgo leaves and the Tokyo Metro symbol at the subway station.

The cost is quite cheap, so you don’t have to worry. It is sold a little cheaper on traveler platforms such as Klook. Also, many products are sold as combination products, so you can purchase them with other products for a slightly cheaper price.
In addition to the Tokyo subway pass, there is also a JR pass, but I do not recommend it because it is too expensive. The cost of a 3-day pass is 99,000 won.ㄷㄷ
