Press and hold an unnecessary friend in the list and press the hide button. It would be nice to think of this process as the process of moving from the friends list to the hidden friends list.
After moving the friend you want to delete to the hidden list, go to Settings in the upper right corner from the More menu at the bottom. In Settings, select the Friends menu.
Go to Manage Hidden Friends in the Friend Management tab of Friends Settings. In Manage Hidden Friends, simply click on the Manage button to the right of the friend you wish to delete and then press the Delete button.
You can also delete friends in the same way as blocking. If you click the Unblock button in the Manage Blocked Friends list, you will be asked whether you want to add them to the Friends list, then you can press the Cancel button to delete them.
