KakaoTalk (KakaoTalk) has a management function for inactive chat rooms.

Notifications for hidden chat rooms are turned off, and they are not included in the ‘badge count’ that tells you the number of unread messages in the KakaoTalk application.
Users who have updated to the latest version of KakaoTalk can activate this feature in the laboratory. If you press and hold the chat room or swipe the screen left or right and select ‘Archive’, the chat room will be moved to the archive.
The chat room archive is displayed at the top of the chat tab, and notifications for chat rooms within the archive are automatically turned off.
Messages from archived chat rooms are displayed in the archive as gray numbers, and the message number is not included in the overall badge count of KakaoTalk.
Kakao introduced that it is expected to reduce the stress of users who went on vacation and turned off KakaoTalk notifications but were inconvenienced by the added badge count or had trouble with message notifications accumulating in inactive chat rooms.
In addition, with this update, the ‘quietly leave chat room’ function has been reflected as an official feature.
This feature has received a lot of attention, with about 2 million people activating it in the three weeks since it was introduced in the lab last May.
Kakao explained that it reviewed stability for about three months and reflected it as an official feature in this update.
The quiet chat room and the quietly exit chat room function are part of the ‘KakaoTalk Easy’ project that focuses on reducing users’ conversation stress or burden and improving convenience in daily life.
Kakao plans to continue adding new features and improving existing features to reduce user stress.
