I’m curious about what data labeling is, whether I need related certifications, what kind of training I need to receive, what specific work I do, and what my income is. First, let me briefly explain what data labeling is. It is one of the tasks of upgrading artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. To put it simply, you can think of it as processing the data needed to learn artificial intelligence (AI). A data labeler is a person who performs this task.
There is a private certification for data labeling called AIDE issued by the Korea Artificial Intelligence Association. If you are asking, “Is a certification really necessary?”, it may or may not be necessary depending on the type of data to be processed. Just because we don’t have a word processor certification doesn’t mean we can’t write documents.
At first, I saw an advertisement for a medical data labeler on a job search site, applied, and started a part-time data labeling job as a short-term 6-month temporary position. I started without knowing anything about labeling, and the company itself provided 4 weeks of training. .During this period, I learned the job by commuting to and from the company, and since training, I have been working fully from home.
I think the biggest advantage of data labeling is that you can work regardless of time or place. The disadvantages are that the nature of labeling work is simple and repetitive, so it may not be a good fit for you, and the special employment type. There is a meaning. For example, when a project ends, depending on the company’s situation, the contract may end and you may no longer be able to work. Since this is directly related to income, it is often thought that it is difficult to make data labeling a full-time job. And the most curious thing about data labeler income is that it varies depending on the field, but in my case, I am making an average monthly profit of about 2.5 million won, so I am satisfied with my secondary income.
