The Hexako Test is a personality test devised by Lee Ki-beom and Michael Ashton of the University of Calgara, Canada. It is said to be very useful in identifying the characteristics of Koreans by adding ‘honesty and modesty’ to the five temperaments of emotionality, openness, sincerity, congeniality, and extroversion.
Hexaco test can be done by accessing the link above. The first screen is English, but you can test in Korean by changing the language setting to ‘Korean’ at the top. The questions are about 100 questions, and it takes about 15 minutes, but it seems to take a little longer. For each question, you can choose one of the following categories: Not at all – Not very much – Moderately – Somewhat so – Very much so.
Some questions check attention, while others ask about personal characteristics for statistics. For the country, select ‘South Korea’. They ask about religion, political affiliation, and marital status. If you’re having trouble responding, there’s also a ‘Don’t Respond’ option.
