SRT 취소 수수료Sometimes when I go to Seoul, I use the SRT once in a while because it is cheaper than KTX and the seats are comfortable. In particular, in the case of the Gyeongbu Line, there are fewer cars than the KTX that runs the same route, so reservations are sometimes required on weekends and holidays. However, if you cannot use the reserved train due to unavoidable circumstances, you will have to cancel or change the ticket, in which case a fee will be charged.
Cancellation of SRT tickets differs before and after train departure as follows.

1) Before train departure
Cancellations can be made on the SRT website or smartphone SR app before the train departure time. There is no cancellation fee if you cancel at any time up to 1 day (one day) before the departure date, but if the train is on the same day, a cancellation fee of 400 won will be charged up to 1 hour before departure. A 10% cancellation fee will be charged from within 1 hour to just before the departure time.
If you cancel directly through the staff at the station window, the cancellation fee is a little higher. A cancellation fee of KRW 400 is charged unconditionally up to 2 days in advance, 5% from 1 day to 1 hour before departure, and 10% from 1 hour to just before departure.
2) After train departure
Basically, if the train you reserved has already departed, there is no refund online after the departure time, and you must go to the station counter to get a refund. However, in the case of smartphone tickets, it is said that refunds can be made on the phone within 5 minutes of departure of the train through the application. Please note that the cancellation fee after the train departs is 15% to 70% based on the train arrival time at the station.
If you want to cancel a ticket you reserved before the train departs, go to the mobile SR app and look at the bottom of the ticket screen to see the ‘Ticket Refund’ menu. You can choose to proceed with the refund.
On the PC Internet homepage, after logging in, click the ‘Issue/Cancellation (Refund)’ menu on the top menu and click the ‘Refund’ button on the right side of your ticket list to proceed with cancellation.
And even if you made a reservation for the SRT ticket directly at the station window instead of online, you can apply for a refund online. You can apply for a refund by entering the ticket refund number, name and phone number of the person requesting refund through the ‘Ticket – Issuance/Cancellation/Change – Internet Refund Request’ item on the SR website. So please refer to it.
If the ticket is lost, the application for refund is not processed, and if you can prove the fact of purchasing the ticket with your membership number or credit card, etc., purchase the ticket again and ask for confirmation of unused ticket. It is said that you can get a refund at the station window for the amount. However, please note that refunds are not possible if seats have not been assigned.
If you board the SRT and arrive late or are delayed at the scheduled arrival time, you can receive compensation for train delay compensation. The standard is that if the train is delayed for more than 2 hours and arrives after 23:00, which is late at night, it is difficult to use public transportation, so a separate transportation fee will be paid. The scope of compensation is paid at the actual cost within the range of the usage amount of the target train ticket, and the application can be made on the homepage. However, please note that payment is not made when the SR directly provides an alternative means of transportation. So far, we have looked at the SRT reservation cancellation fee, ticket refund policy, and train delay compensation. I hope this helps those who need it.
