In addition, the standard increases by about 3 to 5 push-ups, such as increasing from 12 or less per minute to 15 or less.
For women, the current minimum and score standards are increased by 2 to 10 reps (kg). In particular, women’s push-ups will be changed from the current knee-to-knee position to a standing position like men’s. At the same time, the minimum score of 1 point per minute was set at 6 or less times, and the maximum score of 10 points was set at 31 times or more per minute.
Starting January 1, 2025, the method of calculating physical fitness test scores will also change. When calculating physical fitness test scores, if you have a martial arts qualification (dan certificate), additional points are given, such as 1 point for 2nd or 3rd dan, and 2 points for 4th dan or higher.
The specific evaluation method is a score out of 50 for the event type = total score for each event x 0.96 + additional points for martial arts, and a score out of 50 for the circular type = 48 points + additional points for martial arts when passing the ‘Excellent’ grade.
Therefore, no additional points will be given for the physical fitness test until December 31, 2024, just like the current sentence.
From January 1, 2025, interview evaluation elements will also be reorganized. This improvement in the National Police Agency’s hiring system is a response to the constant cases of obstruction of police officers from carrying out their official duties and to allay public concerns about the police’s ability to respond to accident scenes.
The National Police Agency said, “In particular, there is a higher demand than ever to strengthen the job competency test from the recruitment stage of new police officers,” and added, “We are also pursuing detailed improvements in regulations to select excellent talent with the necessary capabilities and qualifications.” He said.
Meanwhile, the National Police Agency reorganized and implemented written test subjects to focus on national views and duties in recruiting police officials (police officers, etc.) this year.
Of the two required subjects of English and Korean history and three elective subjects among criminal law, criminal procedure law, police science, Korean language, mathematics, social studies, and science, English (tested), Korean history (tested), Constitutional law, criminal law, and police science were made mandatory.
